DESCRIPTION:This weekend\, get out to one of your favourite places to watch birds\, be that your backyard\, the tall-grass prairie natural area\, Sandilands Provincial Forest or one of a thousand other incredible spots in Sunrise Corner. Then share what you saw and heard for a chance to win an pair of Zeiss binoculars. It takes as little as 15 minutes to participate: notice the birds around you\, identify them\, count them\, and submit your findings. Your observations will be combined with thousands of other people’s observations to help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations. \nLearn more about the various ways you can participate at the Great Backyard Bird Count website.

DESCRIPTION:Who? Everyone is welcome!\nWhat? Beginner snowshoe tour focusing on learning how tall-grass prairie species survive harsh winters and searching for wildlife signs. If you have ever wanted to try snowshoeing\, now is your chance!\nWhere? Agassiz Interpretive Trail\, 7km west of Vita just off Highway 201 (turn north on Road 9N)\nWhen? Saturday\, February 11th\, 10am-12pm (weather dependent)\nWhy? The tall-grass prairie is an explosion of life in the summer months. During the harsh winter\, life must find a way to survive. There is much to discover! \nWhat to bring? Snowshoes will be provided but feel free to bring your own if you have them. Weather-appropriate clothing and boots.
